Small nature campsite on the Elberadweg in the middle of the nature reserve Niedersachsische Elbtalaue. Enjoy the silence and untouched nature on the Elbe. Open from May untill October.
Camping Bankerhof
The Bankerhof is a farm in the former East Germany. The farm consists of the original house, two former calf barns and the former stable that provided shelter for 80 dairy cows. All this is stone's throw away from the River Elbe.
At the time of the GDR the farm belonged to a Landwirtschaft Produktions Genossenschaft, where dairy cows were kept. The farm was at that time located in Sperrgebiet, which means that it was not accessible to the ordinary citizen. Unfortunately, vacancy and lightning strike did not do the farm any good. The original house will be reinstated on the basis of old photographs.
Surroundings
The Bankerhof is located in a protected nature and bird area, called the Unesco Biosferenreservaat Elbtallaue. The sea eagle, stork and beaver are animals that can be found here. A beautiful unspoilt nature area for cycling, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing or fishing.
The nature campsite is located directly on the Elbe embankment on the Elberadweg. A cycle path of 800 km between the Czech Republic. The nature campsite is there for people who like to camp in a peaceful and beautiful rural area.
